A
BRAND NEW YEAR- WHAT WILL I DO?
-Johnny Mack Young
Will
I camp on my regrets or set sail on my aspirations?
Will
I stew in the foul broth of my own resentments or apply healing salve to
someone else’s injuries?
Will
I feed cynicism or idealism?
Will
I set a course according to my fears or my faith?
Will
I wait for exactly the right time and place or do what I can with what I have
where I am right now?
Will
I be shrewd enough not to be taken or innocent enough to give?
Will
I give my enemy exactly what he expects or surprise us both with word of
kindness?
Will
I say simply “Lord send me” or first ask Him where He wants me to go?
Will
I do right because it is right or because it was what I wanted to do anyway?
Will
I be teachable or unreachable, lovable or untouchable?
Will
I be a brother to my brethren, a friend to my friends, and a neighbor to my
neighbors or will I just be too busy?
Will
I slink in the shadows of doubt or walk upright in the bright daylight of hope?
The choice is my very own.
I can do all things
through Christ who strengthens me. –Philippians 4:13
